Understanding the duties, responsibilities and requirements placed upon pilots comes from attorney Don McCune’s hands-on experience in the aviation world. As a professional aviator for over twenty five years, he served both in the military, and as Captain, First Officer and Second Officer for one of the nation’s largest airlines in domestic and international operations.
After graduating from the United States Air Force Academy, McCune was a pilot in the United States Air Force and Tennessee Air National Guard, serving from 1977 – 1993. As an Air Force Command Pilot, he flew domestic and worldwide missions in aircraft ranging from nuclear bombers to tactical airlifters. He is a retired member of the Air Line Pilots Association, where he served on the System Board of Adjustment and Northwest MEC Negotiating Committee.
His experience allows the Motley Rice Aviation Team to better understand the role of the pilot and how the pilot’s actions can affect, contribute, minimize, and/or avoid incidents and accidents.
